A Silverton elopement in peak fall color made for an unforgettable adventure in the San Juan Mountains. The couple, joined by their closest family, off-roaded up rugged trails lined with golden aspens to reach their secluded ceremony site- a stunning alpine lake tucked into a high-country basin. They shared heartfelt, emotional vows, cut their wedding cake on-site, and celebrated with a family champagne toast.
Their OHV became their getaway vehicle, marked with a custom sticker and trailing cans to commemorate the occasion. We explored the basin and surrounding mountains for portraits, stopping our line of OHVs and jumping out when we saw a pretty photo spot. Their dog, Bindi, even signed their marriage license with her paw- a moment that was super important to them. The celebration continued with a family shot ski before we parted ways and their loved ones returned to the group campsite where they were staying for the weekend.
Me and the couple set out on our own, and we found the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the San Juans and get the last pictures of the day as the couple soaked it all in. We watched the golden alpen-glow on the peaks in the distance, spotted wildlife, and hiked up interesting rock formations for epic views. What an incredible, personalized, and FUN elopement day for Logan + Eric.
When I was chatting with the couple about why they decided on eloping in Silverton, what drew them to doing an off-road excursion, and what they’re most excited for, they had the most beautiful response. The intention behind their wedding day stemmed from their mutual love for adventure and spending time together in the outdoors:
“Our first date was spent off-roading to catch a sunset, followed by Mexican food and margaritas. It was the beginning to what would become an incredible journey together.
Since then, we’ve been inseparable. We are beyond lucky to have found each other. We are truly each other’s best friend and biggest supporter. There couldn’t be a more perfect match for either one of us.
We spend the week of 4th of July in Silverton exploring on our RZR with all of our friends. Its a super special place to us. We hope to kick off our marriage doing something we love in a place that we love.“
